Hey all! I discovered how you can run VRChat on your mac without installing a virtual machine or bootcamp. This has been a huge upgrade in quality of life for me, because I can easily hop into VRChat in about 3 minutes...it also enables me to demo on my Oculus and guide a person using my Mac (I don't own another PC laptop).

Basically, GeForce released an app called "GeForce NOW" which allows you to run certain Steam games on their virtual computer, using your network connection. Although GeForce NOW has a list of Steam apps that are compatible, and VRChat isn't listed, once you go to launch an app for the first time (in the virtual computer window on your mac) it brings you to the Steam store to download it. Once in the Steam store, you can search VRChat and install it. The entire process takes only a few minutes, and VRChat runs very well.

Note: This is a beta app that is free, but NVIDIA will begin to charge some time next year

    1. Download NVIDIA GeForce “Now” virtual machine app: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/geforce-now/mac-pc/

    2. Log in or create a log in for the app (you only need to do this once)

    3. Choose any Steam game on the list (e.g., Fallout 4) and say “install”

    4. It will analyze your network, and may warn of latency issues. This shouldn’t matter for VRChat too much (click “Continue”)

    5. After it connects, you’ll be asked to log in to Steam.

    6. Now you can go to the Store, download VRchat/install (takes 5 seconds on the virtual computer)

    7. Launch VRChat!

Note: If the initial Steam app launches (e.g., Fallout 4) you should be able to exit the game without exiting the virtual computer

Hmm I didn't have to request beta access - did you create an NVIDIA account and log in?

At what point does it say you need beta? Can you post a screenshot?

What year and model Mac do you have? Did you check documentation on NVIDIA website about the GeForce Now app? It may list supported hardware

Oh wow! It looks like the site says “due to popular demand there is now a waitlist” so I guess you need to submit your info and wait for them to email you :(

Hmm not sure - it may not meet the minimum requirements? Although that would be surprising since all it’s doing is streaming a video of a virtual PC...

Hello Psycho, I do not understand the tutorial very much and I ask you if you can make a video explaining it in a better way.

Thanks for this Psych. Takes a week or so now to get an invite but I just got it and it works perfectly (wish they had Ultrawide support).
